Rachel VanDerMeide

Rachel VanDerMeide

Licensed Funeral Director

Lindquist's Associate since 2017

Rachel was raised in Fruit Heights, where she learned to milk cows, help sheep give birth, ride horses, pick and pit cherries, and the difference between a rattlesnake and a blow snake. She is the oldest of five children and loves the chaos that a large family brings. During high school Rachel worked at Bowman’s Bakery where she learned to make donuts and wedding cakes. She still loves to cook and bake, but has not had a donut since 1996!  Rachel met her husband Brent when she was a senior at Davis High School. They were married shortly after she graduated and have been married over 20 years! Brent and Rachel have six wonderful children-five sons and one daughter! Rachel’s greatest accomplishment is her family, and the fact that they love and like each other.

When Rachel’s “baby” went to kindergarten, with the nudging of a friend, she went back to school to become a funeral director.  Rachel graduated from Salt Lake Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science in May of 2017, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Funeral Home Management from Mid-America College of Funeral Service in March of 2018.  Rachel is one of Lindquist’s first female funeral directors and loves being able to serve families in their time of need.

Rachel is an active participant in the Centerville/Farmington Rotary Club and enjoys the positive influence the club has in our community and the world.  She is also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently serves in the Young Women’s Presidency. Rachel loves musical theater, a love that began in seventh grade with her role in “Bye-Bye Birdie.” Her favorite musical is “Wicked,” a show she has traveled the United States to see. Rachel loves Dr. Pepper, tacos, cheese, and carbs!   In her spare time Rachel loves to sew, crochet, read books, go camping and hiking, traveling far and near, and spending time with her crazy kids!
