Craig was born in the old Dee Hospital in Ogden and resided in Layton throughout his youth. His was the first class to attend the new Layton High School in the fall of 1966. He graduated from Davis High School in 1969, the last group of Layton kids to graduate from Davis.

Craig attended Weber State prior to serving a LDS mission to the Manitoba/Minnesota Mission. After serving his mission he returned to Weber State.

He met and married Pauline Beth Waind Aug. 5, 1972 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 5, 1972. They are the parents of six children, 22 grandchildren and counting.

Craig began work with Lindquist Mortuary January 13, 1976. After completion of his apprenticeship he entered the Mortuary Science program in Cypress, California. He graduated head of his class and was the recipient of the Harriet Davies Award as the outstanding student in embalming. Following completion of Mortuary School, he was offered a managerial position with McDougal Funeral Home in West Jordan, Utah. He worked there until rejoining Lindquist Mortuaries/Cemeteries in 1984.

He has served as the General Manager for Lindquist since 1993.

In 1987 Craig built his home in Layton across the street from where he grew up. He has loved serving in his community. He has directed the funerals for thousands of neighbors, friends and family members throughout his career and always felt it was an honor. He has coached various youth leagues in Layton for many years including football, basketball and baseball. He has served as President of both the Kiwanis Club and the Ogden Executive Club. He served five years on the Board of the Utah Funeral Directors Association, including president in 2011. He was appointed by the governor to serve on the Utah DOPL Board for two terms.

Craig has served in many church positions: Bishop, as well as three stake presidencies including President of the Layton, Utah Kays Creek Stake. He and his wife have served as temple ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple and currently serve in the Bountiful Temple.

He and his wife enjoy playing golf. Craig belongs to the men’s association at the Valley View Golf Course in Layton.

Jason Smith is a current resident of Layton, Utah and is happily married to his wife, Melanie. They have five children, three girls and two boys. He's proud that their children attend Weber State University, Layton High School, and Legacy Junior High. His oldest two children are attending Weber State University. His third child is serving a mission for their church in Riverside, CA.

Jason had a great childhood in Roy, Utah and graduated from Roy High School in 1989. After a year of college and basketball at the College of Eastern Utah (CEU), Jason served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sacramento, California. Afterwards, he attended and graduated from Weber State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Sales (1996).

Jason began helping families preplan in 1996 with McDougal Funeral Homes. An opportunity opened in 2006 to join Lindquist Mortuaries and Cemeteries and Jason has enjoyed helping families preplan for their final arrangements ever since. Jason finds great satisfaction in serving in his community with Boy Scouts of America, the Davis County Chamber of Commerce, the Davis Education Foundation and with his family and church. In his free time he likes to travel, spend time with Melanie, his father Jerry Smith, his brothers, and children camping, hunting, 4-wheeling, and hiking. Recently, Jason & his family accomplished a bucket list item of hiking King's Peak together in 2020.

Bobby began working in the family business at Lindquistʼs Memorial Parks at a very young age where his father was the owner and president. Growing up in Ogden, he attended and graduated from St. Jospeh Catholic High School. After High school, he attended Weber State University and the University of Utah
until he decided that he wanted to have a career in the family business. He started his education in the mortuary field at Cypress College in Southern California, eventually transferring to American Academy McAllister Institute in New York City where he earned his degree in Mortuary Science.

Bobby is married to Desiree and they have a son Griffin, and reside in Bountiful. They enjoy traveling and being together as a family.

Bobby loves working in the mortuary industry and continuing his familyʼs legacy of serving the community. He is a full time funeral director along with being a pre-arrangement Counselor and helping families make arrangements prior to their loved ones passing. It has been his honor working alongside his Grandfather

As a Funeral Service Professional, Chris Battrick joined Lindquist Mortuaries and Cemeteries in the Spring of 2011 and has been serving client families throughout Weber and Davis Counties ever since. He is happy to call Utah his home. Chris is married to Diana Gammon Battrick and together they have 11 children. Raised in Corvallis, Oregon, Chris earned his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mortuary Science from Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. In addition to previously holding professional licenses in Oregon, California, and Washington, Chris is a Utah-licensed Funeral Director and Insurance Agent, helping clients all over the Inter-Mountain West with their Advance Planning needs. He is also a certified Crematory Operator and has been designing custom grave markers for 23 years.


Chris served as an Infantryman in the Oregon Army National Guard from 2000-2009 and is an active member of the Weber County Combined Veterans Honor Guard. A member of the Kiwanis Club of North Ogden since 2013, Chris has served three terms as President. He has also served three times as a Weber County Delegate for the Republican Party and been on several advisory boards in the area. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Chris was a Spanish-speaking missionary in the California Ventura Mission from 1997-1999 and over the last several years has been studying Russian, Ukrainian, German, Italian, and other languages of personal interest.


Chris and Diana enjoy singing together and hiking the Wasatch Front to combat the natural side effects of regularly testing home-baked cookies.

Daniel (Danny) Jackson was born and raised in Davis County. He graduated from Clearfield High School in 2005. From 2006 -2008 he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Torreon Mexico. Together, he and his wife Erma Lowry,have five children who bring them much happiness. In 2012 Danny graduated from Weber State University (WSU) with a Bachelor's degree in Family and Interpersonal Relations. He completed an Associate's Degree in Mortuary Science in 2014 from Salt Lake Community College and gained licensure as a funeral director at that time. He then returned to WSU and completed a Masters Degree in Professional Communication in 2016. Danny enjoys music and has been a drummer for years. He enjoys time with his family most of all. His desire to help people through funeral service came at the age of 13, when his father died unexpectedly. Since then, he has focused on making a career helping others at Lindquist Mortuary.

Connor joined the Lindquist family in September 2012 as a licensed funeral director.

Connor is married and has three boys. He currently resides in Farr West where he attends the Farr West 7th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Connor has been active in funeral service for 17 years.

He enjoys auto detailing, traveling, and playing with his family. Connor has a passion for funeral service and loves being a funeral director.

Matthew Yardley has been a funeral director since 2009. He received an Associates of Science degree from Weber State University and a Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science, from Southern Illinois University. After moving back to Davis County, where he grew up, he began working at Lindquist Mortuary. He lives in West Point with his wife, Susanna, and three children. Matt is a musician and has played guitar, piano and accordion in several bands. He has also enjoyed playing bagpipes with the Utah Pipe Band since 2010. Matt served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Asuncion, Paraguay, and is fluent in Spanish. He currently serves with the youth group in his church, and has spent many years volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America. Matt has many hobbies. He enjoys fishing, hunting, traveling with the band, and adventures with his family. The funeral profession has become an integral part of his life. Matt finds that serving families with compassion and understanding can best help families with the loss of a loved one.

Robert T. Aaron grew up in Evanston, Wyoming and still has family there. After graduating from high school, Robert served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Coventry, England from 1988-1990.

Robert first attended Western Wyoming Community College earning his Associate degree in Science in 1999. He then expanded his knowledge by attending Arapahoe Community College in Denver, Colorado and graduated in 2002 with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. He began his career in 1990 at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming and enjoyed 13 years working for them. He then joined the Lindquist family in 2003 as a licensed funeral director. In 2010 he returned to Crandall Funeral Home for 6 years and rejoined Lindquist’s in 2016. He is licensed in both Utah (2004) and Wyoming (2002).

Robert lives with his sister in Ogden, goes to the gym regularly and bikes every weekend in the summer.

Maryl is a native Utahan, the great-granddaughter of Mormon pioneers, born and raised in Layton. She is a top graduate of Layton High School, class of 2004. She is also a double aluma of Salt Lake Community College, concluding school with her degree from the Mortuary Science program in 2016. She is a first generation funeral director, and one of Lindquist’s first female directors. Maryl enjoys volunteering for Catholic Community Services, as well as being a Brownie Girl Scout Leader. She and her husband, Alex, are the parents of a pound-puppy named Nina. Her hobbies include film and movies, local craft brews and spirits, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends.

Rachel was raised in Fruit Heights, where she learned to milk cows, help sheep give birth, ride horses, pick and pit cherries, and the difference between a rattlesnake and a blow snake. She is the oldest of five children and loves the chaos that a large family brings. During high school Rachel worked at Bowman’s Bakery where she learned to make donuts and wedding cakes. She still loves to cook and bake, but has not had a donut since 1996! Rachel met her husband Brent when she was a senior at Davis High School. They were married shortly after she graduated and have been married over 20 years! Brent and Rachel have six wonderful children-five sons and one daughter! Rachel’s greatest accomplishment is her family, and the fact that they love and like each other.


When Rachel’s “baby” went to kindergarten, with the nudging of a friend, she went back to school to become a funeral director. Rachel graduated from Salt Lake Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science in May of 2017, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Funeral Home Management from Mid-America College of Funeral Service in March of 2018. Rachel is one of Lindquist’s first female funeral directors and loves being able to serve families in their time of need.

Rachel is an active participant in the Centerville/Farmington Rotary Club and enjoys the positive influence the club has in our community and the world. She is also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently serves in the Young Women’s Presidency. Rachel loves musical theater, a love that began in seventh grade with her role in “Bye-Bye Birdie.” Her favorite musical is “Wicked,” a show she has traveled the United States to see. Rachel loves Dr. Pepper, tacos, cheese, and carbs! In her spare time Rachel loves to sew, crochet, read books, go camping and hiking, traveling far and near, and spending time with her crazy kids!

Born in Idaho Falls, Ted V. Anderson was raised in Corvallis, Oregon where he joined the Army National Guard, then began his career as a funeral director shortly after marrying the former Janice Nash in 1984. Raising two girls and two boys whilst working at a variety of funeral homes throughout Oregon and Washington, Ted left the Oregon Guard after twenty years of service. Ted lost Janice in an unfortunate surgery accident in 2016,

Ted and his two boys moved to West Haven in 2020 from Steilacoom, Washington, where Ted joined the staff at Lindquist's He looks forward to his eldest daughter and her growing family moving to the Salt Lake area later in the year.

Chris was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana, and moved to Utah to attend school at Brigham Young University in 2016. While completing a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Chris met his wife, MJ Ratcliffe. After completing his Bachelor’s, Chris returned to school, attending Salt Lake Community College’s Mortuary science program, and earning his degree in 2021. Mj and Chris have two children, with whom they love to spoil and spend time with. 


Akin to his family who mainly work in the medical industry, Chris enjoys helping and assisting people through difficult times. Funeral Directing felt like a natural calling to him when he job-shadowed at a local funeral home in highschool. Chris’s hobbies include duck and pheasant hunting, lawn care, spending time with friends and family, and watching shows with his wife.

Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah. Also licensed as a pre-need counselor and a life insurance agent for Lindquist Agency.

Walter grew up in the eastern part of Salt Lake City, graduated from Skyline High School and served a two-mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vienna, Austria.

While attending the University of Utah, Walter met and happily married Deborah Richardson of Waukegan, Illinois. Together they are the proud parents of 4 sons and 11 daughters, many of whom live with their spouses and children in various communities throughout northern Utah. Walter and Deborah are immersed in the joys and challenges of being a part of their children’s, as well as their 35 grandchildren’s lives.

Walter and Deborah are actively involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in their local ward and as missionaries in the Family Search Department.

I like the small town feel of Ogden and thought it was the best place to raise my family.

My faith in God is the most important thing in my life and guides the decisions I make in life. I am a member of St. Joseph and St. Mary Catholic church; I see my position at Lindquist Mortuary as another opportunity for me to serve the Lord through my brothers and sisters in my community.

Howard began his career in the Insurance Industry 40 years ago. He eventually became owner of a third generation Insurance Agency in Ogden, UT, known as Green’s Insurance Service. During his career, he achieved many certifications such as; Property & Casualty, Life and Health, LUTCF, Agent of the Year in 1990 as well as President of Professional Insurance Agents of Utah.

Together, Howard and his wife, Shelly, have two daughters, two sons and seven grandchildren.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Howard has had the opportunity to serve in a variety of callings with Scout Master, being his favorite. During his time as Scout Master, he was able to observe and assist 25 young men in achieving their Eagle Scout Awards. He has always had a love of the outdoors and has enjoyed all the yearly scout camps they attended.

Howard feels that serving in the community is an individual responsibility. He began serving as a volunteer firefighter which eventually turned into a part-time position. While serving for South Ogden City Fire Department, he achieved the following certifications; Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Officer I, Apparatus Driver Operator, Hazmat Awareness, Emergency Medical Technician, Red Cross Instructor CPR/AED. He has also been a member of the Ogden Kiwanis Club for the past 15 Years and served as President in 2015-2016. He was a member of the Mount Ogden Rotary Club prior to serving in the Kiwanis.

Howards’ hobbies are many. He loves Flying and has had a pilot’s license for 33 years. He also has a love for big machinery and has driven a variety of them throughout his career. His favorite being semi tractor trailers which he has driven off and on his entire life. Howard has loved being able to go camping and boating with his family. He also has a special love of trains, both big and small.

Howard has many talents and he is consistently learning. He is an extremely hard worker and has a reputation for his honesty and integrity. He loves spending time with his family. Howard enjoys being able to work and serve people he meets through his career at Lindquist Mortuary.

Todd is a Licensed Preneed Counselor who assists those wanting to make arrangements that will reflect their exact wishes and ease the emotional and financial burden of their loved ones.

With over 30 years of experience, Todd has worked in nearly every aspect of the funeral service industry. He has worked as a Funeral Director in California and Utah.

A California native, Todd first arrived in Ogden by train at the age of 13 years. His earliest memory of Ogden is walking out of the Union Station and looking up 25th Street at the beautiful mountains.

Todd attended Mt. Ogden Jr. and graduated from Ogden High School.

He attended Weber State College and the University of Utah.

Todd served The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a full-time missionary in the Japan Sapporo Mission.

Todd is licensed in California as a Funeral Director/Embalmer, and is a Licensed Preneed Counselor in Utah.

Todd holds an AA degree in Mortuary Science from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, and a BS degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

In addition to funeral service, Todd has also worked in the airline industry at United Airlines in Tokyo, Japan and San Francisco, California.

He enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, skiing, golf and travel.

Karina Sorensen is a Licensed Pre Need Counselor, Family After Care Coordinator and Grief Advocate.


Families value and trust the professional guidance she gives. Karina cares, listens and guides families to determine their individual needs for pre planning, aftercare situations and support options. 


Karina was born in Idaho Falls, ID.  She enjoyed swimming in canals and sliding down potato cellars with her siblings. Her family moved to northern California where she graduated from Lassen High School in Susanville, CA. Karina then graduated from Weber State University with a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. 


Karina has enjoyed working at the University of Utah Hospital, Weber Basin Water Conservatory District, Insurance and Trust & Estate Planning Companies. Karina came to serve families at Lindquist from her personal experience with losing a loved one and her desire to help others in the same situation.


Karina has the most fun when she is with her 5 kids. They enjoy sports and music activities, kayaking, campfires or crawling the rocks with everyone's remote controlled rock truck. She can also be found attending one of the 3 grief support groups offered by Lindquist, volunteering at a local veteran event or advocating for The Center for Grieving Children and Mental Health Awareness.

Eric was born in Fairbanks Alaska, and grew up in Oklahoma, Idaho, California, Alaska again, and finally Utah. Eric is a natural at making friends and connecting with people. He truly enjoys making new acquaintances, and still connects with many friends from places where he has lived and worked. While attending College, Eric met his future wife Sarah on the Weber State University Ballroom dance team. They now have five adorable children ages three through ten.


Eric has a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University where he studied English and Philosophy. He is insurance licensed in Utah for Life and Health. He enjoys movies, outdoor family activities, snowboarding, attending firearms training courses, and writing.


Eric’s approach to pre-need planning is to sit down with folks and put them in the driver’s seat. He counsels with families to help them plan a service that will appropriately celebrate their lives while easing the process for their surviving friends and family.

Clay was born and raised in Salt Lake City.  Through his life he has learned lasting lessons from his parents.  His angel Mother taught him how to love others and his Father taught him the value of hard work.  Clay began working at the age of 12 moving sprinkler pipes on a farm.  He loved spending his time in the outdoors as a youth and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.



He attended the University of Utah for 2 years and completed his Bachelors Degree at Columbia College with a major in Business Administration.  He married the love of his life Sheryl “Tidwell” Rushton, PhD (a Huntsville girl).  They raised 4 beautiful daughters and absolutely adore their grand children.  Clay and Sheryl love to travel.  One of Clay’s favorite excursions was on a humanitarian trip to Fiji with one of his daughters.


Clay has a robust love of life and enjoys the wonders of the world.  He enjoys taking his zeal for life to celebrate and honor the lives of those he serves.


 When not working he revels in card games, live theater, ham radio, the outdoors, and family!

Jarrod has been a Lindquist Associate since 2022


Jarrod was born and raised in Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Telecommunications. During his professional career, he has worked in NASCAR, helped grow hundreds of businesses through his talents with 11 radio stations in Western Colorado, and owned a mortuary transport company.


Jarrod began his career in the funeral industry in 2012.  Over time he saw a need and opportunity to develop a mortuary transport company.  Jarrod got his Preneed license in 2012 and compassionately continues to serve Families in both Utah and Colorado.

 

Jarrod is a direct and no-nonsense leader who is proud to be an active member of our local community.  He thrives on networking in social and civic groups, and participation in charitable causes. 


When it comes to relieving stress and having fun, Jarrod likes waterskiing, hunting, hot rodding and connecting with family and friends.


What most people say about Jarrod, is that he is always on the go finding ways to solve people’s problems and lend a helping hand. If anyone is on the side of the road and needs help, he is the one who will pull over and see how he can help. He is passionate about helping people and in this industry, you will be glad you have him guiding you and supporting your family in their time of loss.
