Wesley Van Fisher

May 19, 1978 ~ December 10, 2016

Wesley Van Fisher, 38, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016, following an accident caused by a seizure on December 7, 2016. He was born to Ricky Van Fisher Sr. and Nancy Joyce Hadley Fisher on May 19, 1978 in Ogden, Utah.

Wesley had recently moved back home to Roy, Utah from Wyoming where he worked as a painter for Triple C. Painting in Green River and Rock Springs, Wyoming for many years. He was currently employed at Circle A Construction. Wesley had previously lived in Alaska for six months, and worked at a sawmill as well as on a commercial fishing boat, where he made lots of memories and friends. Wesley attended Pioneer Elementary, Wahlquist Jr. High, and Fremont High School.

Wesley had recently reunited with his son, Austin, in July 2015. Even though Austin lives in a different state, Wesley always made sure to make time to go see him or have his son come to Utah for vacations and holidays.

Wesley loved the outdoors. He always looked forward to his trips to Moab, Yellowstone, Flaming Gorge, and the many different lakes and rivers where he loved to fish.

Wesley was a very loving, kind, and caring person. He had a heart of gold and this was clear as he touched the lives of so many, friends and family alike. Wesley had a lot of friends and few best friends, but his mom made the top of the list. They were inseparable and Wesley was always her movie going buddy.

With Wesley’s precious gift of organ donation, he may be able to save up to 9 lives.

Wesley is survived by his son, Austin Thomas Fisher; parents, Rick and Nancy; brothers, Lance and Ricky Jr.; grandparents, George and Myra Fisher; nephew, Tanner; nieces, Morgan and Abby; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and Ella, the family dog, who loved him as much as he loved her.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Colin Brose Fisher; maternal grandparents, Ambrose and Verna Hadley; uncles, Todd Fisher and Rodney Hadley; aunts, Tammy Hill and Vickie Jacobson; and his favorite cat, Pudro.

To the entire McKay Dee Hospital ICU, emergency room team, and Roy City responders, with all of our heart we thank you for your efforts.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Huntsville Cemetery.
