Suzanne Sprankle Wilson

Sometime during the early morning of St. Patrick’s Day 2020, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend said farewell to the sufferings of this world and is now in the arms of our lord.

Suzanne was born to Floyd and Virginia Sprankle on March 3, 1949 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  Her family made the move to Layton, Utah in 1965.  She graduated from Davis High School, Class of 1967 in Kaysville, Utah.  She went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University, however she ultimately chose a career at Hill AFB in Hospital Logistics.  She married Dorsey Wilson on December 4, 1971.  They had two children, Jessica and Stefan.

Owing to lifelong health problems from a bout with childhood polio, she medically retired from her job in the early 90’s.  For many years after retirement she was the primary caregiver for her mother who lived to age 99 years.  She endured 22 back and several other operations over a span of 30 years to relieve excruciating pain.

Suzanne had an unsurpassed love for her family and friends and was extremely generous to anyone who needed her help.  She had friends all the world, most of whom she never even had the chance of meeting but connections with through the craft of beading and jewelry making or those who had similar health problems.  She enjoyed all types of craft work, but especially enjoyed making beautiful jewelry most of which she gave away to friends and family.

Sue could find something to love about anyone she met as she always saw the good in others.  She was a true Christian in thought and deed.  She had an unbounding love for all animals and always had a Dachshund at her side.  Her current companions, Izzie and Bailey helped her withstand the daily back pain.

She will be deeply missed by the many who loved her.    She is survived by her husband, DorseyWilson, daughter Jessica Hughlett (Jon) of Maple, WI, son Stefan Wilson (Chamonix) of Bountiful, UT, grandchildren, Kasha Hughlett, Marek Wilson and Coen Wilson. Siblings, Sylvia Reber (Robert) of Plano TX and David Sprankle (Janette) of Layton, UT and several nephews, nieces, great nephew and great nieces.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at a future date yet to be determined dure to the COvId-19 pandemic isolation guidelines.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
