Shirley Mae Phipps Harris

November 18, 1938 ~ December 20, 2016

Shirley Mae Phipps Harris, 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.  She was born to George H. and Eva Mae Monroe Phipps on November 18, 1938, in Ogden, Utah.

She married Richard Harris on February 22, 1958 in Ogden, Utah.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Shirley was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Sunday School Teacher.

She worked at Hill Air Force Base and IRS.

Shirley loved the outdoors and was an avid camper.  She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, raising six children.  She was a very good seamstress and made dresses for her daughters.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard; six children, Julie (Russ) Hoskins, Nancy (Scott) Wilkinson, Richard (Tammy) Harris, SuzAnne (Kenny) Waterbury, Jenifer (Jeff) Sessions, and Jeff Harris; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Phipps and Richard Phipps; and sister, Ruth Harbison.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family wishes to thank the Bear River Care Center and a special thanks to Chelsea for the special care she gave to Shirley.
