Ronald Hatch Stewart

August 14, 1936 ~ April 6, 2021

Ronald Hatch Stewart, age 84, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather passed away in his home in Clinton, Utah on April 6, 2021. He was born to Harold Hatch Stewart and Sylvia Ann Nay Stewart on August 14, 1936 in Ogden, Utah with adorable red hair.

He had a good sense of humor and loved to tease. He would always say “you’re my favorite” to whomever he was with, and he made you really feel like you were.

Ron's happiest moments were spent with his family. He loved airplanes, model airplanes, tinkering, electronics, computers, and could fix anything with duct tape!

He found his forever love, Joleen Bybee, while attending Davis High School. Joleen meant the world to him, and their marriage of 66 years is an example of long-lasting love. They were married August 14, 1954 in Ogden, Utah, and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had six children. Three daughters and three boys. Ron's family was everything to him. Spending time together was his greatest joy.

Ron was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed serving in many callings, especially as a gospel doctrine teacher. He loved the Book of Mormon and would often read it during his work breaks at Hill Air Force Base. This earned him the nickname of “Bishop” because he was always reading it. The gospel brought him a lot of peace, comfort, and hope especially after the tragic loss of two of his sons.

Ron was very talented with electronics and computers. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 36 years in the Air Force Logistics Command Department.

We are happy for the sweet reunion happening in heaven as Ron joins his mother, father, brother, two sons, grandson, and others who have passed before him. Ron is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joleen Bybee Stewart; and four of his children, Debbie (John) Nottingham, Cathy (David) Dalton, Lonny (Jeanie) Stewart, Patricia Martinez; and his 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family celebrated his life with a private graveside service at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, Ron would love if you took your loved one on a date.
