Randall Robinson

May 18, 1950 — October 7, 2021

Randall (Randy) Howard Robinson left this earthly existence on 7 October 2021 to return to his Heavenly Father and the loved ones awaiting him. For those whose lives he touched and impacted here on earth, he will be greatly missed.

Randy was born in Ogden, Utah to Howard Archie and Ruby Stephens Robinson on 18 May 1950, the eldest of nine children. He attended Sunset Elementary, Sunset Junior High School and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1968 where he was a running back on the school football team. He joined the Navy in 1969 and was stationed in Stockton, California and Kodiak, Alaska, where he developed a deep love for the great Alaska outdoors. He served his country for four years before being honorably discharged from active duty in 1973, but continued to serve in the Reserves until 4 May 1979.

Randy married Brenda Payne on 14 August 1970 and had three beautiful, cherished children, Jayson, Texie, and Bridger. He was later divorced. He married Jodi Winn on 28 May 1988 and was later divorced.

Upon being discharged from the Navy, Randy went to work at Hill Air Force Base as a multi-skill maintenance mechanic. After 33 years in civil service, he retired on 30 September 2006.

Randy was a devoted and loving father to his three children. He had a great capacity to love and was always there for anyone who needed help. He took his responsibility as a father and as the oldest sibling to heart and was always there to lend a hand or provide a listening ear.

Randy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and belonged to the Clinton 21st Ward. In his youth, he was very active in scouting, loving every aspect of the program.

Randy loved to be outdoors – especially hunting. He spent countless October day’s happily hunting deer and elk with his family on property at Lost Creek. It was the highlight of his year. He also loved his horses, where he spent much of his time riding and caring for the animals and working on his dad’s farm. He loved being in the mountains, snow skiing and taking the boat out and water skiing. And more recently, he loved tinkering for hours in his newly built garage.

Randy is survived by two children; a daughter, Texie Robinson of Clinton, a son, Bridger Robinson, one granddaughter, Shaylee Robinson and one grandson, Taylor Robinson. He is also survived by three brothers and four sisters; Leanne Ingles of Clinton; Lori (Rod) Clark of West Haven; Steven (Karen) Robinson of Mountain Green; Loni Johnson of West Haven; Linda Webb of West Point; David (Gloria) Robinson of North Ogden; and Nathan (Tonya) Robinson of West Haven. He was preceded in death by a son, Jayson Robinson, his parents, Howard and Ruby Robinson, and his brother, Paul Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 16 October 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Clinton 21st Ward Chapel, 1828 N 3000 W Clinton, UT. Friends and family may pay their respects on 15 October from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, UT., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services.

He will be laid to rest next to his son at the Clinton City Cemetery.
