“Together Again”

In the quiet of a winter afternoon on January 10, 2020, Rand Willie passed away peacefully at the age of 86. We can only imagine the happy reunion and open arms that embraced him. Rand was born on May 14, 1933 to Wayne and Lucy (McCombs) Willie in Mendon, Utah, and attended Cache Valley Schools.

He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  Upon his return, he met and married the love of his life, Anna Rose Stoll, and together they raised their children in North Ogden at the base of their beloved Mount Ben Lomond.

Rand retired from Mountain Bell and then Hill AFB.

He enjoyed flying his plane, hunting, motorcycle road trips, and snowmobiling. Together with his love, they traveled to Europe many times to visit Mom’s family and to see the world. “Dad, we will miss your quick wit and funny stories, but most of all your accepting attitude, kind demeanor, your smile and beautiful blue eyes.

Rand is survived by his children, Ron Willie (Anna Marie), Roxan (Steven) Ellsworth, Karen Worthen, Sandy (Steve) Johnson; 10 special and loving grandchildren, Brittany, Jesse, Jennifer, Shonnie, Jason, Tyler, Brody, Jordan, Bailee, and Shelby; and 23 great-grandchildren who brought much happiness and many smiles to his face during his twilight years. He is also survived by his sister, MarJean Pitkin and brother-in law and sister-in-law, Roland and Friedl Hummel.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; twin brother, Reed Willie, sons-in-law, Steven Ellsworth and Mark Wilcock; an infant grandson, Cameron Willie; and brother-in-law, Leonard Pitkin.

Rand was a member of the Ben Lomond 11th Ward.
