Ned Bodily Sharp

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Ned Bodily Sharp, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at age 67.  He was born on August 22, 1949 in Lewiston, Utah, the son of Clyde and Clarice Sharp.  He was the oldest of eight children.  He married Jeanette Pratt on July 1, 1971 in the Logan Utah Temple. Together they raised their family in Maple Valley, Washington, where they lived for 36 years, before moving back to Utah.

He was a humble and steadfast member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he served as a missionary in France, and as a Bishop, Stake Presidency counselor, temple worker, Scoutmaster, and many other callings.

His greatest joys were his family, the Gospel, and serving others.  He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He quietly served with all his might, mind, and strength.  He was always doing something for someone else.  On any given day, he could be found doing temple work, chopping wood, repairing things, doing family history, delivering Meals On Wheels, working at the Bishop’s Storehouse, and magnifying his church callings.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette, children Curtis Sharp (Didi), Rachel Golightly (Ken), Nathan Sharp (Charlene), and Brian Sharp (Julia), and 23 grandchildren.  Also survived by brothers Dearl and Glen Sharp, and sisters Maxine Jones, Marjean Lake, Susan Brown, and Dixie Stott.  Preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Clarice Sharp, and sister, Beverly White.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Syracuse Legacy Ward, 2024 S. 1475 W., Syracuse, Utah.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery, 1250 S. 1000 W., Syracuse, Utah.
