Myrtle Jones Dixon

Myrtle Dixon, 86, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving children and other family members on Wednesday, October 3, 2007.

She was born on November 17, 1920 in Wellington, Kansas to Horace and Annie Willie Jones.

Myrtle married Ralph Dixon on June 10, 1938 in Tucson, Arizona. They were later sealed for all time and eternity on June 20, 1972.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Dixon, a son Michael D. Dixon, three grandsons, Tony V. Staker, Paul K. Dixon, and Martin W. Welsh, her parents, and four sisters and one brother.

She is survived by nine children; Richard (Sandy) Dixon of Provo; Douglas (Jeanne) Dixon of Arizona; David (Gloria) Dixon of North Ogden; Linda (Val) Staker of Taylor; Pat (William) Welsh of Ogden; Deborah (James) Erickson of Nevada; Kim (Debbie) Dixon of Layton; Scott (Marcia) Dixon of Roy; and Mary Kaye Dixon of Roy. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren.

Myrtle was a full time homemaker and mother of ten children but she still found time to write beautiful poetry and render extraordinary service to her church and community.

She was an active member of the LDS church where she served in the Deaf and Blind Primary program for many years as well as other positions. She loved music and literature and instilled that same love in all the members of her family.

She was an inherently gentle and loving person. People were drawn to her by her kindness and her sunny disposition and acceptance of everyone around her. Myrtle is a great soul finally returned to her loved ones beyond the veil.

We love you, Mom.
