Mildred Rumsey

Mildred Rumsey passed away Friday, February 21, 2014.

She was born January 25, 1919 in Banner, Kansas, the daughter of William and Edith Riggs.

On July 26, 1949, Mildred married Leonard Rumsey, in the Logan LDS Temple. She immediately began to blend two families together and she was successful in that endeavor.

Before her marriage she had worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas during World War II. After most of her children were married, she worked at the IRS in Ogden, Utah. After retiring, Mildred and Leonard served a full time mission in the Arizona Tempe Mission. She played the piano beginning in early childhood and among other numerous callings, served as Ward organist. She was an avid genealogist and Temple worker. Mildred and Leonard served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake City and Ogden Temples. She spent her life in the service of others and has touched many lives. Her passing leaves a tremendous void and she will be greatly missed.

Mildred loved her family and enjoyed organizing family parties at the slightest excuse. Her example set a high standard for her family and others who knew her to follow and strive for.
