Maxine Russell Ellis Higdon passed away on May 7, 2019. She was born in Ogden, Utah on June 22, 1930, to Jesse Lewis and Eva Salina Forrest Russell. She attended Weber County Schools, Weber State College, and Utah State University.

She worked 22 years for the Federal Government, retiring in 1991.

Maxine married Rollin Boise Ellis on June 25, 1949. This marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Rollin preceded her in death on January 15, 1975. She married Willard W. Higdon and they were later divorced.

Maxine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. She served many callings as teacher in Sunday School, Primary, and MIA; and as Ward Librarian and Organist.

She is survived by four daughters and two sons, Christine (Tim) Parkinson, Wellsville; LeAnn (Bill) Harris, San Bernardino, CA; Karen (Bruce) Abbott, Layton; Cindy L. Nielson, Ogden; David R. Ellis, Ogden; and Robert K. (Linda) Ellis, Layton; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Belva Noorda, Kay Morris, and Elaine Stephens, one brother Grant L. Russell, and one granddaughter, Sarah Parkinson.

Per Maxine’s request, there will be no service. Her body has been donated to the University Of Utah School Of Medicine. An interment will take place at Ogden City Cemetery at a later date.
