She was born July 4, 1924, in Burbank, California to Jessie Emaline Bowman and Richard Powell Sims, II.  She loved her birthday, the colors red, white and blue and fireworks.  She grew up in Eagle Rock, California and attended Woodbury College.  Her favorite job was working at Universal Studios doing payroll for Hollywood celebrities.  She also enjoyed music, dance, playing the piano and athletics.

Peggy and Les and their family joined the LDS Church August 31, 1957 and were sealed in the Los Angeles temple September 13, 1958.  Peggy had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many LDS church callings in Primary, Relief Society and Young Women’s.  She also served many years in the Los Angeles and Newport Beach LDS Temples.  She loved everyone, especially her family, and had many friends.  She had a positive attitude and never spoke ill of anyone.  She was well-known for her sweet disposition and for always expressing gratitude to others.

She was an avid historian, writer, photographer, and genealogist.  In 2008, when no longer able to live alone, she moved to Farmington, Utah to live with her daughter, Sharon.  Always wanting to help, she was still playing piano for other’s enjoyment until the week before she passed away.
