Lynette Haugen

October 3, 1943 — June 4, 2021

Lynette Pierce Haugen

October 3, 1943 ~ June 4, 2021

Lynette Haugen was born October 3rd, 1943 in Brigham City Utah to Edward Virgil Swenson Pierce and Ruth Burton. She married Sigurd Norman Haugen on May 11, 1968 in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. She passed away on June 4th, 2021.

Along with her husband Norm, they served LDS missions to the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie Hawaii and a YSA mission in Stavanger Norway.

Lynette had a passion for genealogy and spent thousands of hours researching both her and Grandpa Norm’s ancestry. She is responsible for hundreds of names turned in for temple work. She loved temple work and volunteered hundreds of hours working in the clothing rental booth.

She served in many church callings, from Relief Society President to cub master. She served in the Stake Relief Society program for many years.

After working for a time at Bechtel Engineering in San Francisco and Thiokol at Promontory Utah, Lynette began working for the Boeing Company at Hill AFB. At Boeing, she was employed with the ICBM Rivet Mile program on the Minuteman Missile program. She was known throughout that program and received many letters of commendation and merit by reducing manuals and thereby saving hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Air Force and Government.

Lynette is survived by her husband Norm, daughter Kristy (Richard) Oliver, Morgan Utah, Erik (Denise) Haugen, Malta and Spanish Fork Utah, Kurtis (Katie) Haugen, West Point, Utah and Mikael (Angie) Haugen, Missouri City, Texas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many cousins and nieces.

She was preceded in death by brothers Edward, Nolan (Marilyn), and Caleb (Bonnie), sisters Betty (Ray) Rawson, and Ruth (LaMar) Gibson.
