Lorenza Manalus

December 17, 1928 — February 11, 2020

Lorenza Perez Manalus was born on December 17, 1928 in Mabalacat Pampanga, Philippines. She is the sixth child of Saturnino Perez and Ana Mercado. She has three brothers (Castor, Carlos, and Fransico) and four sisters (Paulina, Olympia, Saparina, and Mercedes). Lorenza passed away peacefully beside her family on February 11th, 2020 at 10:05PM in Layton, Utah.

Lorenza worked as a Nanny/Housekeeper for multiple military families and worked in Laundry Cleaning Services at Clark Air Force Base. She married Rizalino Manalus in the Philippines at age 30. They had five children together, Renato, Dolores, Wilma, Robert, and Rolando. Lorenza came to the United States in 1986 to be with her daughter Dolores and son-in-law Thomas Schragal. Lorenza took pride in caring for her family, especially in the food that she created and the clothes she would sew. Her favorite getaway is the colorful display in Wendover to play the slot machines. Lorenza’s super power was her ability to give love to everyone. She had a special way of touching anyone’s heart in a short matter of time.
