Lois Eleanor Livingston Riggs

Lois Eleanor Livingston Riggs - 90, passed away Saturday August 22, 2015 in Layton, UT.  She was born February 15, 1925 in Castledale, UT to Arnold George and LaFonta Lowry Livingston.

She was raised in Castledale, UT. She married the love of her life, John Orlas Riggs on December 20, 1946 in Layton, UT. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on March 12, 1948.

She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Clearfield 4th Ward much of her married life.  She served as Relief Society President, in the Primary, as a ward organist and many other callings. She and John served a two-year Stake Mission followed by 6 years of service in the Ogden UT LDS Temple.

She worked for HAFB where she met John and later worked for the Davis County School District as a bus aide on John’s bus. They both had many friends and participated in a “Dinner Club” and in a square dance group among other activities.  Lois loved serving others especially her family and was an example of enduring to the end.

She is survived by her children, Aleda (Steve) Weeks, Las Vegas, NV; Diane Erickson, Layton, UT; Gary (Suzanne) Riggs, Henderson, NV; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Margaret Livingston.

She is preceded in death by her parents, step father David Tuttle, her beloved husband, son-in-law Kenneth Erickson; brothers Arnold Dale Livingston and George Lowry (Maretta) Livingston.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
