Lisa Ann (Stoddard) Dixon

July 13, 1959 ~ October 15, 2021 (age 62)

Lisa Ann Stoddard Dixon, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend came into this world July 13, 1959 and departed October 15, 2021. She was born in Ogden, Utah and spent most of her early childhood there, later moving to Roy, Utah graduating from Roy High School in 1977. She furthered her education by completing a Dual Major in Family Studies/Psychology (BS) at Weber State University, Master of Counseling (Masters) at University of Phoenix and Master of Forensic Psychology (Masters) at Argosy University. She worked at YCC Family Crisis Center, Intermountain Specialized Abuse Treatment Center (ISAT) and Empowerment Counseling. Lisa’s colleagues at Empowerment Counseling shared that her presence made such a profound and permanent change in their complete agency, team, and in their mission, accomplished through her most authentic and sincere dedication in her service to others. Lisa especially was able to serve some of the most challenging and heavy issues, this is a rare healer that has a heart so great to see the good in some of the darkest places in our society. She was a true healer. She had a way of entering your human experience and the empathy you could feel whenever you were around her. She carried the burdens of everyone even those that were too heavy. She had a heart that could see the best in all of us even when we couldn’t see it ourselves. She was cherished and beloved by her colleagues and clients, she will be dearly missed. Lisa would want us to stop and pause and look at ourselves and our humanness that brings us together no matter what tragedies we think might divide us.

Lisa was a warrior for humanity she was an everyday hero. Lisa demonstrated and lived an example of giving love to others. Her sacrifices will be felt forever and vibrate and continue on. It was so beautiful to see her demonstrate peace and have such a joy and appreciation for life and live happiness and love every single day! Lisa loved to write and work amazing artwork using cross stitch. She loved old M.G.M musicals and reading. She excelled in the art of dance and playing piano in her early years, but playing the Alto Clarinet was her passion. She was selected to play with the American Youth Band traveling all over Europe. She devoted most of her personal time taking care of her precious constant companions, Luna and Leilo.

Lisa leaves behind three daughters, Tyan Hardy, Amber Stoddard, and Mariah Stoddard; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson she was so hoping to meet. She is also survived by her mother, Annabel (Jerry) Hofer; father, Russell (Joyce) Stoddard; siblings, Robin (Stoddard) Romero and Shawn Stoddard. She was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy (Stoddard) Downey; and brother-in-law, Leonard Romero.
