Leith Hallows

Leith Ellen Hardwick Hallows

Leith Ellen Hardwick Hallows, age 74, peacefully left this earth on December 6, 2017 at her home in Fruit Heights, Utah.  Although cancer eventually took her body after a two year battle, it did not take her spirit.

Leith was born April 22, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Glen and Anella Hardwick.   Because her father was a welder and mechanic with travel to different construction projects throughout his lifetime, Leith lived in wide variety of locations and attended twenty-five different schools from elementary through high school.

On June 13, 1962, Leith was married to Kay “N” Hallows in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for time and all eternity.

Leith was a mother and homemaker and worked as a Victim’s Advocate in Colorado and Utah. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings over the years.  She possessed a strong knowledge of spiritual, eternal principles.

Leith and her husband served as Temple Workers in the Bountiful Temple.  She contributed much of her time and energy, throughout her lifetime, to charitable service of individuals and organizations around her.

Leith is survived by her husband, Kay “N” Hallows; daughter, Gayle Hallows Stucki (Clay); son, Stephen Hallows; and son, Jonathan Hallows.  Also carrying on her legacy are eleven grand-children (with a great grandchild on the way next February).  Surviving family members also include her brother, Earl Hardwick (Colleen); her sister, Lola Long (John) with and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Previously departing this earthly existence in Leith’s family were her parents, Anella Lytle Hardwick and Glen O. Hardwick, and her brother Charles Hardwick.

Memorial contributions are welcome to Humanitarian Services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (https://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/humanitarian-services), and to The Great Globe Foundation (https://greatglobefoundation.org).

Even as her body was overcome with cancer, Leith continued to work toward her eternal goals all the way to the end of this life.  Her last spoken words were to her youngest grandchildren,  telling them she loved them.

Funeral services will be held at the 77 South Orchard Drive Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fruit Heights, Utah on Friday, December 15, 2017 with the viewing in the Relief Society Room at 9:30 a.m., the Family viewing and Prayer at 10:40 a.m., and the Funeral service in the Chapel at 11 a.m.

A luncheon will be provided by members of the 2nd Ward Relief Society to family members following the Funeral service in the Cultural Hall.

Interment will be at the Enterprise, Utah Cemetery on Saturday, December 16, at 1:00 p.m., with a brief grave dedication.
