John Alden Downs, 71, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019.

He was born December 14, 1947 in Essex, New Hampshire to John Franklin and Dorothy Bodwell Downs.

John served in the U.S. Army.

He married Lorrie Lynn Sanborn. John was a friend to all.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie, sons John R. Downs, Atlanta, GA; Brandon Downs and Wyatt Downs, both of Roy; and two brothers, Ralph Downs, MA; and David Downs, NH.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Roy Christian Church, 4347 South 1900 West, Roy. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 11:30 to 12:30 a.m. at the church.
