Hazel LaRane Brown finished her earthly journey on Monday, October 14, 2019.  She was born June 11, 1924 in Ephraim, Utah to Edvin and Hazel Jensen.  She was the youngest of three children, a real daddy’s girl. Her father was the milk man and she would help him in every aspect of the business, including driving the milk wagon.  She was a very hard worker, industrious, and independent.

She graduated from Snow High School and Seminary, Institute, and Snow College with an Associates of Science Degree. LaRane was a beauty queen and a tom-boy.  She was Miss Ephraim and the Snow Queen at Snow College. Her working career of 21 years has been with Naval Supply Depot, Selective Service System and Hill Air Force Base.

She married John (Jack) Thomas Brown on September 20, 1947, later solemnized in the Manti Temple.  Jack and LaRane were divorced in December 1964. She had two sons Glen Thomas and Jerol Edvin Brown.  She was a great mother to her sons, she took them skiing, ice skating, hiking and taught them to love and respect nature.  They had a love of collecting rocks, butterflies, and hunting Indian artifacts in Southern Utah.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as the Primary Historian and as a Librarian for 50 years.  She also enjoyed many various winter and summer sporting activities.  Her children’s hobbies and interest’s enriched her life.

LaRane was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister and her son Jerol.  She is survived by her son Glen Thomas, late son Jerol’s wife Patty, four grandsons; Kirk (Texie) Brown, Clint (Rachel) Brown, Levi Brown, Luke (Kirsche) Brown, and 15 great-grandchildren.
