Harold Day

Harold L. (Monty) Day, 65, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his home. He was born November 28, 1948 in Ogden, UT to Harold Lamar and Bertha Butcher Day.

Monty married Nancy Stoddard on December 12, 1982. He served in the Army in the Vietnam War. He graduated from Davis High School and was a member of the LDS Church. Monty retired from Hill Air Force Base after 27 years as an aircraft mechanic.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, sons James (Brittney) Day, Clinton, UT, Lamar (Taryn) Day, St. George, UT; Phillip (Cindy) Stoddard, Roy; stepdaughter Tracy Olson, Price, UT; brothers Kirk (Vickie) Day, Elwood, UT and Stephen (Joyce) Day, Layton, UT; grandchildren: C.J. Stoddard, Joseph Stoddard, Braxton Burton, Madison day, Allie Day (the light of Grandpa’s eyes), Sheldon Zirkel, Rashaud Burton, and Landon, Logan and Lincoln Day. Also one more grandson (Bryson) due in August.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Jackie, brothers Delbert and Preston, and stepson Joseph Olson.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
