Guillermo Cortes Camacho

January 29, 1949 – January 11, 2020

Our beloved Apa passed away January 11, 2020 after a very courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Zapopan Jalisco, Mexico to Guillermo Cortes Lopez and Cleotilde Camacho Lozano. He was the second of ten children.

Guillermo married the love of his life, Maria Trinidad Reyes De Cortes, on November 20, 1971 in Atemajac Jalisco, Mexico. They went on to have five children and spend 48 beautiful years together creating a legacy that will live on forever.

We are all better for having known him. His strength and determination, and his love for life made an impact on every person he met. He was so charismatic, with an incredibly infectious smile that instantly made those around him happier.

He was quite the stubborn man, but oh so brave. Even with everything life threw his away, he always remained a beacon of hope for his children and grandchildren. He loved his family more than anything and fought so hard to spend every last moment he could with them. Those are the moments we will always cherish and never forget.

Guillermo is survived by his loving wife, Maria Trinidad Reyes De Cortes; children, Guillermo (Estela) Cortes, Ulises (Liliana) Cortes, Jorge (Jessica) Cortes, Yanet (Angel) Cortes De Rosales, and Ricardo (Christiana) Cortes; 18 grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:00am at the St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel St. Layton, Utah.. Friends may visit with family Thursday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. A vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Words cannot describe how much we love and miss you Apa. Our world may be a little dimmer today, but will forever be brighter because you were in it.
