Together Again

Gloria Neilson beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully January 10, 2022 at her daughter’s home in West Point.

She was born October 6, 1927 to Heber and Nina Olsen. She was the oldest of four children whom she always stayed close with. She grew up in Logan and later moved to Ogden where she graduated from Weber High School.

She married her sweetheart, Russell Neilson at the Salt Lake City Temple on October 9, 1946. They were always in love and displayed affection for one another as well as their family. Every weekend, they had a spontaneous adventure with their children that their family remembers fondly.

Gloria and Russell had 7 children that they adored and 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Nothing was more important to her than loving her family and spending time with her loved ones. We will all miss her Chinese Chews candy during the holidays.

She faithfully served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, always dedicated to many roles within the church. Her faith never wavered and she spread the gospel humbly to many people just by her example of her loving nature.

Gloria is survived by her children, Sandra (Darrell) Bingham, Marsha (Parley) Tingey, Angela (George) Platco, Barry (Julie) Neilson, and Todd (Karen) Neilson and her sister, Gayle Peterson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her two children, Kimmy and, Claine; and her two grandchildren, Brandon and Kimberly.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
