Glenna Thornley Smith

1932 ~ 2020

Glenna Thornley Smith, age 87, passed away January 8, 2020 in Bountiful, Utah.  She was born in Kaysville, Utah on August 15, 1932 to Jesse and Elizabeth Ware Thornley.  She married William Duane Smith in 1950.  She lived in Layton until 1952 then she moved to Bountiful, Utah.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She worked as a civilian at Edwards and Whitesands Air Force Bases.  She also worked for Morris Travel where she loved being a travel guide. She was a volunteer for Breast Cancer survivors, was a Pink Lady at Lakeview Hospital and in medical records.

She is survived by her sons; Shawn Thornley Smith, Centerville, UT, Kevin Duane Smith, Utah, Todd James (Julie) Smith, Bountiful, UT., her daughter Robyn Allred of West Jordan, UT., her four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers John and Val Thornley, grandson Nick, son-in-law Bruce Allred and sister-in-law Beverly Nelson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St., Kaysville, Utah.  Friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the mortuary.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
