Garr and Pat Weaver

Garr Lavoy Weaver

August 25, 1934 – December 8, 2016

Garr Lavoy Weaver was born in Afton, Wyoming, to Wells and Myrtle Weaver.  He was married to Pat Hillstead (Wakeman) on May 13th, 1959 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Although he loved living in Wyoming, he lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, for many years.  He retired from Associated Foods in 1996.  Not long after his retirement, he moved to Yuma, Arizona, where he resided with his wife of 57 years, Pat, until her passing in June of 2016.  He was then moved back to Salt Lake to be with his family.  He passed away in December.

Garr enjoyed golfing and watching sports on TV.  He also enjoyed coaching little league baseball when he was younger.  He had many awards and trophies from the truck rodeos that Associated Foods used to put on for their employees; he and his wife Pat had a lot of fun at these events, and Pat also won several awards at these events.

He is survived by his siblings: Garnetta, Harvey, Beverly, Claine, Sharon, Jack, and Claire; sons:  Clay (Evelyn) Weaver, Kyle (Tari) Weaver; step sons: Blake Hillstead and Terry Hillstead;  grandchildren:  Kendra Weaver, Cassie Shaeffer, and Josh Weaver; step-grandchildren:  Eric Hillstead, David Hillstead, Tamry Hillstead and Allenna Day; great-grandsons: Ryker Mair, Zyden Mair and Tucker Bolen.  He was preceded in death by his son Brett and a baby girl.
