CLEARFIELD a€" Fern Hazel Hamblin Graham, 88, went home with her precious Savior on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

Fern was born December 31, 1921 in Clearfield in the home next door to where she has resided for over 50 years. She is the daughter of Richard Henry Hamblin and Hazel Thurgood Hamblin Davis.

Fern was best known as "Sugar Babe", a title given to her by her devoted and loving husband, Ben L. Graham Jr. Ben and Fern celebrated their 70th anniversary in October, 2009. They were married October 18, 1939 in Clearfield.

Fern accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 29 and there began a relationship above all relationships. She and Ben started what is now Mountain View Baptist Church in their living room in 1951.

Fern loved nature, camping on their mountain property, traveling, rattlesnake hunts, and most of all she loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were blessed beyond measure with a mom and grandmother who they truly could honor and was an example of everything good in this life.

"We will miss you so much mom but you gave us such sweet peace as you rallied unselfishly to say your goodbyes.

Fern is survived by her co-"Sugar Babe" Ben L., four sons, Ben R. Graham, James Graham (Lyndia), Sidney Graham (Terry), Eddie Graham (Jackie), and one daughter, Becky Davis (Lennie). She has 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters: Beth Bottomly, Larna LeHolm, Frances Barkdull, Mirla Gailey, Mattie Morton, brothers: Lamar Hamblin, Blaine Hamblin, Leland Hamblin, Elton Hamblin, Ray Hamblin, Golden Hamblin, her parents and one granddaughter, Jennifer Rebecca Ridderhoff.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Mountain View Baptist Church, 2585 E. 3000 No., Layton. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 So. State Street and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
