E. Deon Baird

December 14, 1932 ~ August 7, 2015

After a long struggle with Alzheimer's, our sweet Mom passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015.

She was born on December 14, 1932, the daughter of Ellis and Darlene Richins in Provo, Utah.

On April 12, 1952 she married the love of her life, Cordell Baird. Together they raised a loving family of two daughters and a son.

Deon was a teacher at Weber State University in the Dental Assisting Program, which she was instrumental in starting. She also taught at the Bryan school in Salt Lake City. Deon worked in the medical and dental field for over 30 years and was a board member for the National Dental Assistants Association. She was an administrator for Manor Care Nursing Center in Ogden and worked for numerous dental practices.

Deon loved helping people and was always there for the ones in need, her heart and spirit were bigger than life.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Dan) Nielsen and Shelly (Tom) Cordova; grandchildren, Dennis Donahoe, Trisha Lynn Wilson, Liberty Cordova, Brandy Larry, Luke Baird, Lacy Rodriguez, Matthew Baird, Ryan Obin; and six-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Cordell, and son Cordell W. Baird.

Lisa and Shelly would like give a heartfelt thank you to the hospice staff at Community Nursing Services, and Life Care Center of Bountiful.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
