Donna Krumperman

July 6, 1925 — November 28, 2019

Beautiful, loving Donna Baker Krumperman, 94 years young, passed away peacefully in the early morning on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019.

Donna was born on July 6, 1925, to parents Benjamin Ether and Mary Emaline Kent Baker in Ogden UT where she was raised and lived all her life; graduating from Ogden High School in 1943. Donna married the love of her life Leslie Dean Krumperman on June 10, 1947; they had three children - Scott Dean, Larry Kent, and Leslee.

Donna's smile, kindness, and unwavering love was a constant; she loved with her whole heart, which was felt and reciprocated by many. Donna was a caring wife, loving daughter and sister, amazing mom, and incredible grandma and great-grandma. Donna was generous with her time and was always wanting to help. A quick, sharp wit and passion for knowledge with an infectious sense of humor always brought a smile to those around her. Her insatiable sweet-tooth was obvious as she always had treats at home and work which she enjoyed sharing with others.

Donna was happily employed at Defense Depot Ogden, Petrolex, Globe Seafood, United Savings Bank/Western Mortgage Loan Corporation, and the Golden Hours Center additionally she cherished her volunteer work in her recent years (up to the age of 93) at the Department of Aging at Weber Human Services. She always made new longtime friends along the way and talked about the wonderful people that she had the pleasure of working with throughout the years.

Family time and visiting with friends was incredibly important to Donna. She made lasting memories with her friends while playing bridge or getting together for coffee or lunch. Being a huge Utah Jazz basketball and Real soccer fan, she would wear her team shirt while watching the games and then recap the outcomes with her son, Scott. Her love for the outdoors included many activities: bird watching, cross-country skiing, golfing, and hiking. She and Dean enjoyed many years of bowling with friends during the winter months. Some of her most beloved trips were to Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Teton Mountains, Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.

The thirst for knowledge was the best example for those around her, as she knew countless “useless words” and read on a regular basis always striving to improve herself. You could find her working in her garden just enjoying the day and getting her "hands in the dirt" even if it meant she needed the help of her walker or utensils to reach the plants. Donna's favorite holiday was Halloween where she wore spooky earrings, socks and shirts for the entire month of October; however, her fun-loving approach to life was always visible with the festive earrings, scarf and matching socks for each holiday.

Donna is survived by her son Scott (Sandy), and daughter Leslee (John) Davison along with grandchildren - Hollee Vance, Lauren Krumperman, Alex (Chris) Paradis, and Chastin (Kasandra) Davison - great-grandchildren - Gavin, Ruston, Damian, Alexander, Chastin, Cereza, Edyn, and Baby Paradis due in May 2020, as well as nieces and nephews that were dear to her. Her husband, Dean, son, Larry, parents, and brother, Norman Kent preceded her in death.

The family is truly grateful to her hospice nurses, Shantee and McKinley, from Canyon Hospice and the staff at Lotus Park Assisted Living for the care and love they provided to their mother this last year. Donna would always say that everyone was so kind to her and they treated her well.
