Clara Loree Bigler

1935 ~ 2018

Clara Loree Bigler, 83, peacefully passed away October 1, 2018 at her home in Newton, Utah.  She was surrounded by her family, and loved ones. She was born January 26, 1935 in Safford, Arizona to Glen Major Naylor and Loree Mary Crandall.  She grew up in Safford and Mesa, Arizona.

She married Doil Storie Sr. on November 26, 1954.They had two beautiful sons, Doil and Ben. They later divorced.  She then married Edwin Earl Bigler on March 15, 1975.  As Edwin served in the Air Force, they traveled all over Europe, mostly living in Germany. There they had Natalie Anne. Also, while in Germany, they were called by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to open and establish a Family History Center. They collected archives from various churches from all over the county. Clara also served the Saints in Bern, East Germany.  Later, they would be stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Orem and Layton, Utah.

Clara was a school teacher for 40 Years. She loved children and made it her mission to help children with disabilities obtain an education.   She assisted in developing the curriculum for Special Needs Academics for Utah. She taught in Germany, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. Her students knew her unconditional love for them, and it was definitely returned.

After she and Ed retired, they continued their work in the church. They went on to serve two Genealogy missions, along with many other positions in the church.  Clara enjoyed sewing, gardening, family history and scrapbooking. She was a wonderful Grandma, and spent many hours cooking and playing with her Grandchildren. Her delightful smile and joyful laugh spread to everyone around her.

Clara was preceded in death by her sweet husband Edwin, her parents and brothers Larry and Ronald Naylor.  She is survived by her sons Doil Storie, Jr. of Colorado, Ben Storie, Jacksonville, FL, her daughter Natalie Anne Levi of Newton, UT., and brother Karl Naylor.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many other extended family members that we love dearly.
