Carma Boren

CARMA MARION WOOLFENDEN BOREN

May 15, 1935 ~ July 25, 2021

Carma Boren, age 86, passed away in her home Sunday, July 25, 2021.  She was born May 15, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah and was raised in Magna, Utah by her parents, Veola Clement and Reynolds Woolfenden.

She graduated from Cyprus High School and attended Brigham Young University where she met and then married Wilford Frederick Boren in the Salt Lake Temple.

They enjoyed living for many years in a wonderful neighborhood in Bountiful, Utah where they raised their five children.

After her children were grown, Carma served as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple and later, in the Bountiful Temple.

When Wilford retired from his work as an electrical contractor, the two of them were called as CES Missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Washington D.C.  Shortly after they returned home from their mission in Washington, they went on a second mission to Portugal.  Later, they served as Church Service Missionaries in the Utah, Ogden Mission and for two years after that, they served in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.

Carma is survived by her sister Jeane (George) Chipman and by her family (whom she thought of as wonderful and thoughtful) including her sons, Chris (Linda), Kim (Julie), Dean (Natasha), and Dale (Stephanie), and her daughter Wendy (John), as well as her much-loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adore her in return.

Services will be held at the South Foxboro Ward Chapel, (875 W. Foxboro Dr. North Salt Lake, UT. 84054) Saturday morning, July 31st at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.  A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in the Centerville City Cemetery.
