Brian Kite

Brian passed away February 6, 2020 at his home in Fruit Heights.

He was born February 3, 1977 to Jack D. and Louise Green Kite. He married the love of his life, Cary Louise Kiehl, May 17, 2003. Brian and Cary were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Claudia Louise Kite and Caitlyn Piper Kite. His three girls were the love and light of his life. Brian was also blessed with a dedicated companion, his cockapoo Harley, who gave him so much joy, comfort and love.

He leaves behind his sweet wife, Cary; daughters, Claudia and Caitlyn; parents, Jack and Louise Kite; his older brother, Burk (Traci) and nephew Cody; his in-laws, Dan and Marsha Kiehl and Toni Hodges; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his niece, MeQuel; uncle, David Kite; grandparents, Howard and Helen Green, Florence Kite Hill and Fred Hill and LaVerne Kite.

Brian graduated from Davis High School in 1995 where he was fondly known as Pooh. He attended Dixie State University, Salt Lake Community College and Davis Technical College. He was employed at Impact Imaging as a graphics designer and Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic.

Brian’s life was a blessing to all of us. He was so deeply loved and will be so greatly missed. He had an infectious laugh, his smile would light up a room, and his gentleness and kindness were felt by all who knew him. He was a friend to all he met.

Brian had a special relationship with his Grandma and Grandpa Green. They shared a bond that was so strong and so loving.

Brian loved the outdoors: hiking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, exploring and fishing. He enjoyed a full and active life, spent with family and friends. He played football and basketball, and excelled at whatever sport he played. He loved Ute football, and became an Ohio State fan after meeting Cary. He was an avid Utah Jazz fan, a love he shared with his Grandma Green and passed on to his daughters.

At the age of five, Brian was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He never complained and did not let the disease define him. His activities became limited in his last few years due to complications of his diabetes. In his later years when his pain became too unbearable, Brian fought substance abuse. The two devastating diseases were just too much for him to bear, though he continued to battle and struggle to overcome some of his burdens. In the end, he lost his battle but we will always be proud of his fight.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many who responded, especially the Kaysville City Fire, Paramedics, and Police, and Davis County Sheriff’s Office, and those who cared for him with compassion: Dr. Khaldoun Al-Rayess; Brett Rawlins, FNP and Kim Greaves, NP.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
