Blaine Allen Glanville

June 5, 1942 ~ April 26, 2015

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Blaine Allen Glanville, 72, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 after a short illness. He was born on June 5, 1942 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Blaine LaVell Glanville and Virginia Hilda Peterson.

Blaine was a graduate of Ben Lomond High School.  He attended BYU and Weber State College.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Oslo, Norway from 1961 to 1964.  Blaine went back to Norway and met Gerd Hansen.  They were married on November 5, 1966 in Halden.  They were then sealed in the London, England Temple on November 8, 1966.  Upon returning to Utah they eventually made their home in Kaysville.

Blaine was a successful businessman and the owner of Glanville Sound and Thor, Incorporated.  He enjoyed working hard and helping his customers.  He also loved developing new products for many companies.

Blaine enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and children.  He had a love for all kinds of music.  He liked to read and had a passion for science.   He was very knowledgeable in a variety of subjects and liked to share them with his family.

Blaine is survived by his loving wife, Gerd, Kaysville; son, Erik Blaine Glanville, Ogden; daughter, Heidi (Daniel) Alsup, Ogden; two grandchildren Andrew (Malorie) Alsup, Ogden; and Garrett Alsup, Ogden; and sisters, Susan (Ordell) Mindrum, Sandra (Joe) Hull, Joanne (Dean) Smith, and Melanie (Kerry) Stephens.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine LaVell and Virginia Hilda Glanville.

Blaine will be greatly missed by his wife and children.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends and family may visit on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
