Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. at the Layton South Stake Center, 505 South 1000 West, Layton, Utah 84041.  Friends may visit family Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.  Interment, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Bern Idaho Cemetery.

History

Places Lived: Beulah spent the first part of her childhood living near the sawmill her parents owned in the forests and mountains of Swan Valley Idaho.   Her dad died when she was nine and her family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.  After her mission she and during the early years of her marriage she lived in the avenues of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ogden, Utah.  Not too long after her marriage she and Richard moved to Royal Oak Michigan.  Soon after her last baby was born they moved to Arvada and then to Thornton, Colorado.  After her parents had both died they took a three year tour to Bicester, England.  Then back to Thornton, Colorado.  They moved to Reynoldsburg, Ohio, for a short 3 year jaunt and then retired to Layton, Utah.  She moved to Ogden Utah to be closer to the temple there, and spent the last years of her life in Riverdale, Utah.

Education: Beulah attended Rigby High School in Idaho where she loved to play sports and played the saxophone in the marching band.  After graduation she attended LDS Business College.  One of her favorite classes was a drama class.  She was amazing at playing dramatic parts.  She always wanted to be better at playing the comedy parts.

Religious Activities: As a youth she earned her Golden Gleaner Award.  As a young woman she served in the Great Lakes Mission.  Beulah was a secretary to the General Relief Society Presidency and served in all different church auxiliary presidencies. She married Richard R Kunz in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1965 and that happy union never ended.  She went on to serve with him as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Utah Temple and in the Freiberg Germany Temple. She loved indexing, family history & genealogy.

Business Activities: Beulah enjoyed being an accountant for the United States Air Force and was involved in foreign military sales when working with Department of Defense.  She won many achievement awards there, signed up for many additional trainings and enjoyed the top secret clearance that she had.

Affiliations:  As a young woman Beulah loved to be involved in many organizations.  She was a counselor in Vtaua Phi, a Sorority at the University of Utah for return missionaries.  Beulah was very proud of her pioneer heritage and loved being a member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Hobbies & Interests: As a young girl Beulah loved playing with paper dolls.  As a youth she loved playing the saxophone for the marching band, and she was quite upset that girls were only allowed to play half court basketball because they were deemed to be the weaker sex. Beulah loved sewing matching clothing for her children when they were young. For a year when her children were in elementary school she served as a crossing guard.  She loved taking walks with her children.  Beulah made hundred of loomed hats for Huntsman Cancer Center and others in need.

Philosophy:  Beulah always loved and nurtured the individuality of her children.  She stressed enjoyment of life much more than she cared about achievement.
