Arvil Walker

July 25, 1925 — November 27, 2019

A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away November 27, 2019.

She was born July 25, 1925 to Thomas R. and Cora Powell Todd in Cederview, Utah.  At the age of five her family moved to Ballard, Utah where she attended school.  She then moved to Roosevelt, Utah where she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She also attended BYU.

She married her high school sweetheart Robert Walker on February 13, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple after he returned from serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific.  They moved to Logan where Bob graduated from Utah State University in Aeronautical Engineering.

They moved to Ogden where Bob was employed at Hill AFB.  They bought their first home in Clearfield where they lived for 21 years.  They moved to their present home in Kaysville where they retired and have lived for the past years.

Arvil was very active in the LDS Church working in the Primary as Primary President, Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society Counselor, and later as Stake Primary President.  She was also a charter member of the local DUP camp.

She always liked working in the yard, was an expert at crocheting, making many afghans which she gave to many people. She enjoyed cross stitching and was also involved in scrapbooking and has many books of family pictures and reunions.  Arvil was diabetic and suffered for years with neuropathy in her feet and legs, but in spite of this ailment, remained very positive, active and caring for family and friends.

Arvil is survived by her daughter, Shelley Rae (husband, Alden Santos) and her son Craig.  In 1989 her oldest daughter, Sandra Lee, passed away.  Her husband Robert died on September 18, 2015 of a heart attack.  What a wonderful reunion they must be having.  She leaves behind grandchildren: Scott McClellan and Terri Boulter, Casey and Marla McClellan, Niki McClellan, Brandi Palmer, Zenia Walker, Brandon Walker, Kassidy Russell and 18 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.
