Abigail Hall

Our beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend Abigail Hall passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the age of 44, after a valiant three-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Abby was born July 29, 1969 in Ogden, Utah. She was the first child of J. Stanley Hall and Jeni Smith Hall.  She grew up in Layton, Utah, and was the oldest of six siblings, Mindy, Emily, DeeDee, Anna, Kelsey and Melody.

She attended Whitesides Elementary, Central Davis Jr. High and then graduated from Layton High School.  She attended the University of Utah and began her career as a graphic artist in Salt Lake City.

She was a talented graphic designer working for many notable Utah companies, and working as a freelance designer, during her 23 year career. Abby had remarkable talent with color, design and the technology of printing. She also had a gift for fashion and composition.

The joy of her life, her daughter, Ashtyn Selby Hall was born in 1996 and joined her mother in their cozy Layton, Utah home.  Abby continued to work and live in the Layton area for several years.  At the time of her death she was a resident of West Point, Utah.

Abby’s ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2011 began a challenging and grueling 3-year battle with the devastating disease.  She became an outspoken advocate for ovarian cancer awareness.  In July 2013 she was awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to the Ovarian Cancer National Conference in Washington DC to attend as a guest of the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the West Point City Cemetery, 80 N. 4025 W. Friends may visit with her family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.

Our thanks to Huntsman Cancer Institute and Access Hospice Care for the kindness and care they provided to Abby.
