Zylpher C. Dunyon

July 21, 1917 ~ November 23, 2019

Zylpher Conner Dunyon “Zella”, 102, passed away peacefully at the Family Tree Assisted Living Facility, located in Morgan, Utah, at 9 p.m. with loved ones at her side.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 21, 1917 to George Arthur Hodges and Elma Chloe Lisonbee. Zylpher “Zella” Hodges had her early beginnings in the Lost River, Idaho area and later in Rexburg, Idaho.

She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 6, 1926. Endowed and sealed to her first husband, and the father of her children, Leonard Val, Donald Jean, and Delmond Chloe, on September 3, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple at the age of twenty four.

At age fifty eight Zella was sealed to Earl Warren Conner in the Ogden Temple on November 29, 1975. Earl passed away on March 1, 1979, just some eleven years following their civil marriage.

Zella played the piano, the organ, and had a singing voice second to none. She enjoyed riding her brother Gar’s horse, “Old Kid” as though it was her own, all during the Lost River years till high school.

For the next twenty one years she lived in Utah, California, Idaho, and back to Utah, while she raised her three boys. As an accomplished singer she taught voice, directed many ward and stake choirs and was always teaching by example the “Good Life.” She loved to attend the temple.

Her blessing in life was to have her best years come towards the end of her life.

The family would like to thank The Family Tree Assisted Living Rest Home in Morgan, Utah in being a big part of providing a good deal of Mother Zella’s happiness during these later years of her life while living here in Morgan.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
