SUNSET a€" Winona Claire Hemminger, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Davis Hospital.

Mom was born January 8, 1928 in Middletown, Pennsylvania a daughter of Howard Emanuel and Christiana Bartenslagle Myers. She married William George Hemminger on May 1, 1948 in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

She was raised and educated in Middletown, Pennsylvania, graduating from Middletown High School. She lived in Middletown and Harrisburg until 1965 when they moved to Sunset, Utah. Mom lived in Sunset until her death.

Mom was an active member of the Methodist Church. She was a housewife and worked for the I.R.S. Mom loved to travel, do crossword puzzles, watch old movies and was an avid book reader.

Surviving are her children: four sons and two daughters, Ray Scott (Sally) Hemminger, Holliday, Utah; William Alan (Linda) Hemminger, Layton, Utah; Brian Paul (Kathryn) Hemminger, St. George, Utah; James Blair Hemminger, Sunset, Utah; Claire (EVan) Vanderwood, Boise, Idaho; and Nancy Joan Hemminger, Sunset, Utah; 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William George; her parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
