Winnie Joyce Miller Williams
LAYTON a" Winnie Joyce Miller Williams, 72, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at her home.
She was born December 10, 1938 in Tulia, Texas the daughter of William M. and Edna Boren Miller.
Winnie married Kenneth E. Williams on June 1, 1955 in Portales, New Mexico.
Winnie was a Christian. She was Board of Directors for Legacy and the Newsletter Editor for Legacy. Winnie was a special member of SOLE (Society of Logistical Engineers), and Phi Kappa Phi.
She loved her family, friends, collecting rocks, pinecones, leaves and rose petals, camping, walking, bird watching, pets, painting and crafts.
Special thanks to granddaughters, Tanasha Youngbird, Shantel Williams, Meghan Williams and nieces, Cindy Porter-Wallace and Jody Barney for taking care of grandma during her final days. Thanks also to Applegate Hospice.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth E. Williams, Layton; son, Ronald J. (Shellay) Williams, Syracuse; daughter, Diana J. Williams, Layton; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Billie Jo Howard, Portales, NM.
Preceded in death by her son, Kenneth L. Williams, parents, brother, Lawrence Miller, sister Nell Miller and nephews Leonard Westerman and Bill Sides.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
