William Richard Brown

December 26, 1929 ~ May 1, 2016

William Richard Brown, 86, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016.  He was born on December 26, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Roland Spencer and Esther Clough Brown.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

William married Lona May Mogensen on September 23, 1960 in the Logan LDS Temple.  He was an active member of The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He drove a school bus for Ogden City Schools for years until his retirement.

William loved camping and traveling.  He had many friends and was a very social person.  He loved the history of the Ogden Weber area and his home town.

William is survived by his wife, Lona Brown; children, Debbie (Grant) Thacker, Julie Ann (LaVar) Griffin, and David (Laci) Brown; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara Thomas and Norman Smith.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
