Emblem

Loving husband, father, and grandfather, William (Bill) Campbell passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023. He was born April 30, 1932 to William Robert Campbell and Arreva Jorgensen. Bill lived a long, happy, and full life. He enjoyed church, Boy Scouts, camping, hunting, fishing, computer games, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a graduate of Brigham Young University and was a devoted, life-long Cougars fan.

He worked for and retired from Hill Air Force Base in Procurement and loved the fact that he was helping to serve the nation as he was a veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War.  With his loving wife Sonya, he provided for and raised six wonderful children.

Along with his own children he helped nurture many young lives through his work as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, especially as a leader in the Scouting Program.  Bill was best known as “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he lit up whenever they came to visit.

Bill is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Sonya Wilcox Campbell; sisters-in-law, Sandra Campbell, Sherry Wilcox, and Lanae Wilcox; brothers-in-law; John Cummins, and Ken (Alice) Wilcox; his four sons, Shawn (Lisa) Campbell, Brett (Lorna) Campbell, Jaren (Pat) Campbell, Ryan (Moani) Campbell; two daughters, Jodi (Bryan) Butler, Katrina (Tyler) Passey; thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert, Lawrence, James Richard, and David Bruce; sisters Janet Whitney, Arreva Grace Campbell, and Margaret Ann Cummins; three nieces, Margaret Ann Cummins, Ondrea Cummins, and Teara Lee Campbell; two nephews, Travis Cummins and Jason Marcum.
