Wilda Rosetta Kay Nicholas Michael Wilson

September 29, 1922 ~ May 24, 2016

Our beloved mother, Wilda Rosetta Kay Nicholas Michael Wilson, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 29, 1922 in Tremonton Utah, the second of fourteen children born to Loren and Zina Cook Kay.

Wilda married Oleen C Nicholas in 1940 in Wilder, Idaho. They and their children were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple in 1954. They raised their 9 children together until Oleen passed away in 1972. Wilda married Richard Michael in 1975, and they lived in Clearfield, Utah until his passing in 2008. Wilda then married Frank Wilson in 2011 in the Bountiful LDS Temple, and they spent 5 years together living in Mountain Green and Morgan, Utah until his passing in March 2016.

Wilda was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully for many years in several callings. In addition to being a devoted mother and homemaker, she was an Avon representative who loved creating extra income for her family. She was a great artist and musician, and she loved to memorize and recite poetry. She enjoyed embroidery and fabric painting as well as patchwork quilting that she did all by hand and won first place at the fair for her beautiful quilt. She loved music and learned to play the accordion and violin, and was recently learning how to play the organ. Her greatest accomplishment, however, is the honorable family she created and loved so much and who will miss her dearly.

Wilda is survived by six sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Charles Curtis (Corma) Nicholas, Heber Kay (Stephanie) Nicholas, Leonard Chris (Deborah) Nicholas, David Kent (Linda) Nicholas, Jessie Chad (Vickie) Nicholas, Gordon Kelly Nicholas, and Wilda Kathleen (Jim) Higgins. She is also survived by eight siblings and a great posterity of family that she loved very deeply, as well as her dearest friend of many years, Edna Thorpe.

Wilda was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, and three husbands. She was also preceded by two sons, Oleen Keith Nicholas, and Loren Carroll Nicholas.

The family expresses deep appreciation to The Family Tree Care Center staff in Morgan, UT, for their loving kindness shown to Wilda and Frank during the short time they lived there.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.   Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m at the Mountain Green LDS Church, 4150 West Old Hwy Rd, and on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the mortuary.  Interment at Bear River Cemetery: N 4600 W, Bear River City, UT.
