Wanda E. Seeley

March 23, 1938 — July 7, 2023

On July 7, 2023 Heaven rejoiced and Earth mourned as our Mom,Grandma,Great Grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. Wanda E. Seeley passed away peacefully from her mortal body, surrounded by the most cherished gift that God gave her; her family. Wanda was born on March 23, 1938, in Rexburg, Idaho, to goodly parents, Arvid and Pearl Edstrom. She grew up in a loving home with one sister and four brothers. Wanda attended Madison High School where she was Jr. Class President and a senior class officer. She graduated in 1956 with honors.

On November 26, 1958, Wanda married her eternal sweetheart, Brian Carl Agren, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to Logan, Utah where Brian attended Utah State University and Wanda worked at JC Penney. After three heart wrenching miscarriages they were thrilled to welcome their first and only child, a little girl named Jan Michelle. Brian was accepted into medical school at the University of Utah and was set to begin in 1963. They moved up to Rexburg in the summer of 1962 to help Brian's father with the farm until they were to return to Utah for medical school. On October 19, 1962, a tragic accident took Brian's life.  After only four years of married happiness Wanda found herself alone with her two year old daughter.

Wanda returned to Logan to attend USU, received her Associates degree in Elementary education and for the next ten years Wanda and Jan lived between Logan and Rexburg where Wanda taught the  third grade.

On Christmas Day of 1971, Wanda met Joseph T. Seeley, who became her best friend and loving husband for the next forty-eight years.Joe and Wanda were married for time in the Logan Temple. Wanda was blessed to become the "bonus" mom of five beautiful children: Sylvia, Alan, Valoy, JoLynn and Kent. This new "Brady Bunch" bought a home in Kaysville, Utah and moved there in May of 1972. They raised their family in that home until they both moved to Fairfield Village in 2016.

Wanda is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings and served as Stake Young Women's President for many years. Her firm testimony of the gospel and unending kindness and compassion has endeared her to many. She had the gift of discernment and empathy and was able to sense the needs of those around her whether they were physical, spiritual or emotional. She created a home where everyone was welcome whether it be impromptu visits from friends and Ward members or scheduled family gatherings. Wanda loved her family fiercely.  Very few things were more important to her than being a mother and grandma. You'd often find her at plays, dance recitals, music recitals, sporting events and anything and everything that had to do with her grandkids. She was there! Grandma time was the best time! Each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she made each one feel uniquely loved. Her eighteen great grandchildren were icing on the cake. They knew Grandma "great" loved them so much.

On February 8, 2020, her beloved Joseph T. passed away and once again Wanda had lost the love of her life. The loneliness was unbearable and time did little to ease it.  Wanda lived in Fairfield Village Assisted living from 2016 until her death. She was loved by all the CNA's, Nurses, and staff that attended to her there.

Wanda was preceded in death by her eternal companion Brian and her earthly soulmate Joe, her parents Arvid and Pearl Edstrom and brothers Wendell and Vernon Edstrom.

Wanda left behind her six children and their spouses: Jan (Jon) Christopher of Mountain Green, Utah, Sylvia Millard of Sandy, Utah, Alan (Lynette) Seeley of Layton Utah, Valoy (Sally) Seeley of Twin Falls, Idaho, JoLynn (Paul) Carter of Orem, Utah, Kent Seeley of Perry, Utah, her sister and two brothers; Verda (Robert) Willyerd, DeLynn (Judy) Edstrom and Delbert (Linda) Edstrom, along with 19 Grandchildren: Shawn, Flint, Cody, Wyatt, Chelsea, Andelyn, Chase, Tucker, Alex, Michaela, Bridger, Trevor, Ellie, Kaleb, Maddie, Sophia, Jake, Shane and Brandon, and 18 Great Grandchildren:  Allie, Kale, Darcie, Esca, Jade, Lavender, Harmony, Tristan, Remington, River, Ridge, Kreyton, Hadlee, Ronan, William, Griffen, Jackson and Ledger.
