Wanda Florence Garner Peek passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 from causes due to old age.
She was born October 3, 1914 in Goshen, Idaho to William Warren Garner and Jessie Mae Sewell. She was the third of nine children.
Her family moved to Hooper in 1920 and she began elementary school there.
In 1932 Wanda married Raymond W. Griffin and after 20 years of marriage they divorced. She was also married to Don Barnes and Dent Sampson, each for a short time. Wanda married Harry L. Peek in 1989. They lived in South Weber until his death in 2004.
She enjoyed going to the temple and loved her work there. She also liked visiting with people and cooking.
Wanda had wonderful memories of the "old days" and if you wanted to know anything you could just ask her.
She is survived by her children, Jeanne and Louis Gallegos, Grace and Louis Montoya, Faye and Jim Barnes, Don and Renee Barnes, Ken and Monika Wilson, Roger and Linda Wilson, Jay and Tamara Kennington, Keith and Gayle Kennington, Ken and Patty Post, Jean and Elmer Vick; one sister, Joy Jensen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph Griffin, Jerry Wright and her siblings, Virgil Garner, Doris Long, Thelma Crezee, Freda Campbell, Lida Bingham, Dale Garner and Ellis Garner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9th at 2 p.m. at Lindquist'' Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
