Wanda Hill Christensen, 94, of Layton, Utah, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, in the presence of her daughter and son-in-law, Margie and James Dall, with whom she was living with in West Jordan, Utah.
She was born July 1, 1931, in Park City, Utah, to Cleo and Cuba Avilda Hill.
Mom married the love of her life, Shirl Christensen, on October 20, 1950, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married for 59½ years until Dad’s death on May 25, 2010.
Mom was a devoted stay-at-home mother, always there to greet us before and after school. She didn’t just care for us—she taught us. The way she lived her life reflected the wisdom she held, especially her constant reminder:
“We have to accept the things we cannot change.”
She repeated it whenever life called for it. She was a wonderful cook and a patient teacher, showing us how to care for ourselves and navigate the world with strength and grace.
Wanda was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and an avid family history researcher. Her love of heritage lives on through the generations she leaves behind.
Together, they were parents of six children:
• Susan (Richard) Morrison, Tacoma, WA
• Rick (Mary) Christensen, Syracuse, UT
• Margie (James) Dall, West Jordan, UT
• Bonnie Jean (Paul) Workman, Las Vegas, NV
• David (Connie) Christensen, Tiberon, NM
• Laura (Doug) Reeder, McKinney, TX
Along with their children, Wanda and Shirl were blessed with 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Shirl Christensen, and family members who passed before her, including her parents and grandparents; brothers Junior, Paul, and Joe Hill; sister Iva Dee Loveless; sister-in-law Lila Smith; children Rick Christensen and Bonnie Jean Workman; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
