My amazing dad, Wallace Mark Ekenstam, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025.

He was born October 1, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah the third son of Marvin Jay Ekenstam and Mary Annette Haycock.

He was formally of the U.S. Navy and retired from Hill Air Force Base.

He devoted himself to God, supported his daughter while she worked her way to two bachelor’s degrees, and was an avid Utes fan. He wrote amazing poetry, loved photography, gardening, cooking, and gamed hard.

Surviving his daughter Shondra T. Ekenstam and seven brothers; Joseph Ekenstam, Robert Ekenstam, Ken Ekenstam, Jim Ekenstam, Matt Ekenstam, Devon Ekenstam and David Ekenstam, along with wives and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father, mother, and grandparents.

He was greatly loved and will be equally missed.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery. 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary. 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse UT.
