Beth Giordano

May 16, 1925 — November 5, 2024

Violet Beth Giordano, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024. She was born on May 16, 1925, in a log cabin with a dirt floor, in Black Pine, Idaho. The daughter of Thomas and Inga Emmertsen Mills. 

Beth attended Bear River High School, where she met and married Keith Wheatley on June 24, 1942, in the Logan LDS Temple, they had a daughter Carol, Keith passed away on January 4, 1945, while serving during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge in Luxembourg. She became a widow at 19 years old.

She later met Joseph Giordano while attending dances at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, they were married on December 12, 1946, in Morcone, Italy. They had seven children together. Joseph passed away on August 2, 1979. It was important to Beth, that her children were raised knowing both the Catholic Religion of their father and her faith with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While Beth was raising her family, she decided to go back and graduate high school, she was proud to graduate in 1968, in the same month her son Dick was graduating high school and daughter Carol was graduating from college. 

She was active with the Boy Scouts and served an LDS Mission in New Zealand in 1987 with her sister Wilma. She was also a member of the Westernetts Posse and Endurance Trail Riders in the 1970’s. 

Beth worked at the IRS for 27 years. Following her retirement, she volunteered for the Ogden Union Depot for 25 years. She also enjoyed working the summer months at Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore. 

Beth loved bowling and bowled in mixed leagues and participated in the Huntsman Senior Games for over 30 years. Beth was a world traveler, she had visited every continent except for Antarctica. She was a go-er and stayed active all throughout her life. 

She enjoyed the outdoors and created many fun memories with her family, camping, boating and any other outside activity she could participate in. 

She is survived by her children, Carol (Richard “Pete”) Peterson, Thomas Dean (Janeal) Giordano, Dick Giordano, Randy (Anna Marie) Giordano, Kayleen Giordano, Rick (Julie) Giordano and daughter-in-law, Sharon Searle; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way. 

Preceded in death by both her husbands, sons, Larry Joe and Kenneth; two grandsons Phillip and Kevin; her parents and all her siblings.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. 

A special thanks to the entire staff at Seasons Assisted Living and Inspiration Hospice for the care and kindness they provided to our mother.
