Listen to Obituary

Vickie Camille Huggins Dunkley, 82, of Farmington, Utah, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after facing ongoing health challenges. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Vickie was known for her quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering love. She filled her life and home with kindness and grace.

Born on September 14, 1943, in Spokane, Washington, to Gordon and Camille Huggins, Vickie was the eldest of five siblings, a role that came with great responsibility and love. Many called her the “built-in babysitter,” a title that reflected her lifelong care for others. Summers spent with her grandparents in Eden created cherished memories she carried throughout her life.

A graduate of Weber State with a nursing degree, Vickie dedicated her career to serving others. She worked at McKay-Dee Hospital and in the NICU at LDS Hospital and later contributed her expertise to Jean Brown Drug Research Company and Premier Research.

On August 26, 1966, she married the love of her life, Richard M. Dunkley. Together they spent their early married years in Switzerland, where she worked as a nurse while Richard pursued his studies. These were years that forged an unbreakable bond.

Her proudest accomplishment was being the mother of 7 children, 30 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Vickie’s heart expanded further through her service to others - serving missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Montreal, Canada (French-speaking), as Guest Service Missionaries at the Conference Center, and for 10 years at the Davis County Jail.

Vickie loved flowers, needlepoint, crafting, and listening to her grandchildren play the piano. Her Sunday dinners gathered family and widowed friends alike, each meal a testament to her selfless love.

Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard McCarrey Dunkley; her children, Adrienne (Michael) Gerrard, Emily (Nathan-deceased) Peterson, Rebecca (Jerimie) Montgomery, David (Amie) Dunkley, Rachelle (Kyle) Olsen, Mari-Catherine Vinton, and Nathan (Catharine) Dunkley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Camille Huggins; son-in-law, Nathan Peterson; grandchildren, Ezra Dunkley Peterson and Lucas Daniel Vinton; and great-grandchild, Ezra Duane Gerrard.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Oakridge Ward Chapel, 1533 North 1075 West, Farmington, UT. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
