Verna Price

Verna passed away peacefully in her loving home on December 21, 2021. Verna was born in Green River Wyoming on November 29, 1932 to Joe and Pearl Lee Vit. The family moved to Ogden, Utah when Verna was 11 years old. The family owned an orchard and enjoyed selling fruit and plants to the locals.

Verna graduated from Ogden High School in 1950. After graduation Verna met and fell in love and married the love of her life Eldon Jewel Price from Geneva, Idaho on July 6, 1951. Together they built a life and shared three children Rodney J. Price, Joeline D. Fowers and Julie G. Sandberg. Together they were a part of the LDS faith. And with both of them working they were able to build Verna’s dream house where Verna would reside for the rest of her life. They were married until his death in September of 1984.

Verna work for DDO and then later at Hill Field as an Electrician, retiring from Hill Field after 30 years. Verna made many lifelong friends while working on the airplanes.

Verna enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and many other social functions. Verna was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club and was the president for many years. She loved family gatherings, holidays, and cookouts and any excuse to be around her family.

Verna is survived by her two brothers Joe Vit, and Lloyd Vit; her two daughters Joeline (Rex) Fowers and Julie G Sandberg; seven  grandkids, and 11 great grandchildren. Verna was proceeded  in death by her parents Joe and Pearl Vit; her husband Eldon J Price; her son Rodney J Price; her son in law Rex G Fowers; a great granddaughter Kwynn D. Fowers; her two brothers Fred and his wife Arlene Vit; and George C. Vit.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Monday, December 27th from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, South Morgan Cemetery
