Verla Russell Shaw, 84, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Spokane, WA.

She was born May 12, 1927 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Edgar and Mildred Hadlock Russell.

Verla liked golfing, reading and cross stitch. She loved being around her family and friends. Verla never liked to be alone. She never complained and was always compassionate to others. Verla spent most of her working years as a waitress.

She was gracious and was always a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her children, Connie Taylor, Vickie (Frank) Stevens, Greg (Kathy) Clark, Jan (Mark) Goldman, Susan (Jerry) Bryant, Allyson (Mark) King, 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two brothers, Ken Russell and Boyd (RaLene) Russell.

Preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Don, Earl and Ray Russell.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
