Vera H. Nelson
OGDEN - Vera H. Nelson, 89, passed away on March 21, 2012. She was born August 23, 1922 in Star Valley, Wyoming to James Odin and Emma Ellen Petersen Hinck.
She married Wayne F. Nelson in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He died in January 1997.
Vera was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as ward Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society counselor, teacher in all the auxiliaries, Director of the Home Craft Program at Deseret Industries, Genealogy leader and ancestral file analyst, ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple and served two Stake missions.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Wayne) Williams of Hartwell, GA; two grandchildren, Shawn (Ralph) Smith, and Jeffrey (Robin) Williams; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kristi, Hunter, Harrison, and Mia; and a great-great-grandson Luke.
As per Vera’s request, a Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
